Day 21 - Oregon Trail Interpretive Center

This was a very special place. It was on our way from Baker City to Hells Canyon and the Copperfield RV Park. We were able to experience what is was like to walk in the pioneers tracks and learn about everyday life on the Oregon Trail. If you ever visit Oregon be sure to stop at this center. Its a National Reserve area so we were able to get in free with our National Park pass.

Covered wagon pulled by oxen for hundreds of miles.
It is estimated that 300,000 pioneers traveled on the
Oregon Trail. Hardships were many, food was scarce &
they had to fight Indians, disease, drought, snow and
a host of other unknowns in search of a better future
in the west for their family. Many died trying!
